Online Financial Literacy Facilitator Training course now available!

16 June 2015
Prosper Canada is pleased to launch an online version of our two-day, in-person financial literacy facilitator training course. Developed in partnership with Seneca College and hosted on the OCASI LearnAtWork platform, this online course will enable facilitators to deliver basic money management workshops to the communities they serve, and help us reach more communities and train more facilitators than ever.

The seven-week course was piloted from March to May this year with twenty learners from organizations across Canada. Participants explored the nine financial literacy content modules, as well as modules on facilitation and preparing for workshop delivery. Learners also participated in discussion forums and evaluation surveys throughout the training.

Feedback from the pilot was resoundingly positive. Eighteen of the 20 learners completed the course and received their certificates. Learners have commented about the easy navigation and the colourful, interactive modules.

Upon completion of the online course, learners receive:

  • A curriculum manual containing modules on nine financial literacy topics
  • Access to online evaluation tools
  • A PowerPoint presentation template
  • A certificate of completion.

Debi Robins from Niagara Peninsula Homes/Niagara Women’s Enterprise Centre had this to say about the course: “I would definitely recommend this course. It has great content, activities and facilitating resources.”

The course will be offered again in the fall. The cost to take the course is $250.00.
