November is Financial Literacy Month in Canada, a time to highlight and celebrate our shared progress in building financial well-being Canada-wide, and to recognize and celebrate the many partners from all sectors who make that progress possible.
Prosper Canada wishes, to thank all our funders, whose generosity has strengthened and grown financial empowerment efforts nation-wide. Their support is critical to the delivery of the services, tools and resources that are enabling financially struggling Canadians to rebuild their financial stability and well-being.
“Financial Literacy Month is a reminder that financial empowerment is not simply about knowledge. It’s about access, dignity, and opportunity. Thanks to the continued commitment of our funders and partners, more people in Canada are receiving the support they need to build their financial well-being and navigate our complex financial system with confidence. Together, we are building a future where financial inclusion and well-being are not the exception, but the norm,” said Elizabeth Mulholland, CEO of Prosper Canada.
Over the past year, thanks to the support of our funders, we have:
Expanded frontline tax filing, benefit assistance, and financial counselling and coaching services reaching over 58,000 people and helping them access more than $206,000,000 in additional income.
Increased financial empowerment supports for under-served populations, including Indigenous and Black communities and people with disabilities.
Strengthened community capacity to deliver consumer and investor education, and culturally relevant financial supports.
Advanced efforts to close the financial help gap, modernize benefit delivery, build sustained funding for free financial empowerment services, and tackle predatory lending practices.
Served over 283,000 people through our Benefits Wayfinder online tool
Thanks to our funders, and community partners, we look forward to continuing to grow our impact, helping more Canadians to build their financial confidence, stability and resilience – no matter who they are, where they live, or their financial starting point.
Thank you to our funders for their generous support
