Elizabeth Mulholland confirmed as SEDI CEO

11 October 2012
Dear friends,

I am pleased to announce the confirmation of Elizabeth (Liz) Mulholland as SEDI’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective September 1, 2012.

After 11 years as a SEDI Board member, Liz stepped in as Interim CEO in November, 2011. Since then, she has led the organization through a comprehensive strategic planning process, helping to set an ambitious course for the next three years, building on our past successes in the fields of financial literacy and asset building and laying the groundwork for continued innovation.

Prior to assuming the role of SEDI CEO, Liz was an independent public policy consultant, specializing in social development, sport for development, and regional innovation. Before launching her own consulting practice in 2002, she held leadership positions in the private, public and non-profit sectors including vice president of public policy at Williams Research International Ltd, an applied research firm; senior policy advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister, providing strategic direction on national social and health policy issues; and head of United Ways of Ontario’s government relations program.

Liz is an accomplished public policy professional with over 25 years of social policy experience, a track record of strong cross-sectoral partnerships, and a commitment to strengthening the voice of non-profit organizations in the public policy process.

We are delighted to welcome her as SEDI’s new CEO and look forward, with you, to her continued leadership as we work together to expand economic opportunities for Canadians living in poverty through program and policy innovation.
