The overall purpose of the collaborative project between Seneca College and Prosper Canada was to build a supportive booking system for tax clinics serving low-income communities.

Learn more about our recommendations that the FCAC work with with consumer and financial sector stakeholders to create a made-in-Canada version of the highly successful U.S. Bank On National Account Standards, which identify critical product features for bank or credit union accounts for low income and vulnerable consumers.

In the context of the ongoing affordability crisis, we are encouraging Finance Canada, and the Government of Canada more broadly, to widen its policy aperture and to consider actions that are needed to help financially struggling households weather the current storm and, over the longer term, rebuild their financial stability, health, and resilience against future economic shocks.

The aim of this project was to develop a potentially scalable technology enabled service to effectively support people with disabilities – at no or low-cost to them – to access government benefits they are eligible for but not receiving, at no or low-cost.
